I call it the “Goldie Locks” part of Farming.  Too Hot, Too Cold, Too Wet, Too Dry…very rarely it everything JUST RIGHT.   Farmers are  used to the reality that sometime throught the growing season we will most likely get some environmental stresses that cause peril to the crop.  Some Years we get a correction in the weather to save the day but some years things get bad.  There are ways to protect the crop from these stresses but usually they are costly.   We are always exploring new inexpensive methods to mitigating the impact of environmental stress.
